Assignment Progress
Today Meredith and I got a lot done on our powerpoint and we still do not know when it is due because we do not have class tomorrow. Hopefully it will be due on Monday. In our powerpoint we have slide containing pictures, information about the leader, victories by the leader, and what the government means or how long their government has been around. Meredith and I are going to work on it tonight for homework and if we stay on track and focused we can get it done on time.

Human Geo Assignment for second quarter
Today in Human Geo we worked on our projects again. Since my sister was not there to work on it with me she got online to help me finish our powerpoint. This did not work out so well since we could not really talk. We are not finished so hopefully today in class we can push it to have it done since it might be due by the end of the week... and since thats tomorrow it worries me. We only have about 5 slides and Mr. Schick say that we should have at least a dozen, so I hope we get the project done on time.

In- Class project
Today we started a in class project where we get to choose one of the 12 countries from our previous assignments and write about the government and the leader. Since we got to pick our partners I picked my sister, Meredith. We also picked the United Kingdom as our country. We were told to do a power point on the country about who the leader was and if there is any way to get him/ her out of office. We also had to research what government type the country had and what their government type meant. Meredith and I got about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way done. Im hoping that we will get more time to finish it in class this week.

First Pop Quiz
Today in Human Geo. we took a pop-quiz. I thought that it was pretty easy until the last 5 questions. I got a 73% on the quiz and was happy with my grade. I was happy with my results because a lot of people got in the 50 and 60s for the most part. I fell like I would have received 100% on this if we had at least one night to study for this quiz.

Discussion
Today in Human Geo we discussed our assignment from the other day and the blog that we had to complete last night. Most people said things that they found and from what country and who the fact was about. I did not find a lot of good facts on most presidents. One interesting fact that someone said was that Vladimir Putin earned his black belt in judo when he was 18. Mr. Schick also said that he liked to pose for pictures and be manly in them. The facts that were important i edited into my blog from last night so that I could have something that was true and made sense.

Catch Up Day
Today in class 3 people in our class still have not taken the test so they were able to do that. I was very excited about getting my test back to see what I got because I had a good feeling that I did good on it. Hopefully we will get the tests back by Friday. While the 3 took the test the rest of us got to do whatever and do work from other classes. I spent my time doing some studying and when I was done I played games on my computer like 2048 and Octagon. I was very happy that we could do homework today in Human Geo. because I did not have to rush so I could have fun at the freshman dinner tonight.

Human Geo. Test
Today in class we took a test. To me this test seemed somewhat easy and I didn't take to long to answer most of my questions. I think I got the questions wrong about the population pyramid, but I think I did well not the first section where we had to find the answers on the CIA world fact book website. I knew how to get around the website well and knew what section everything was in for each country. I fell like I did get a good grade on this test and I am excited to get it back and see what grade I got.

Spotify Experiment
Today in Human Geo Mr. Schick told us that he was not trying out this thing with Spotify and gave all of us promo codes that would give us premium access to spottily for three months. Our assignment is to find songs on Spotify that have to do with migration and moving around. He said it could be any kind of music, such as country, pop, hip-hop, etc. I think this will be an easy thing to do but it also may be hard because I can think of plenty of songs that have to do with moving but they may not actually work like I think they will.

Are we the greatest country in the world?
Today in class we looked around the CIA world fact book to find evidence that the United States is the greatest country in the world. I found things that could help this and things that could break this theory. One thing that could help this is that we are number 2 in the mobile communications and internet communications. This is a good thing because we have communication with each other but this can also be bad because we are so distracted by internet and mobile devices now a days. Another thing that is helping our country is we are high up on the list in airport transportation and this helps us to travel to different countries and keep in contact with other people. Something that is not helping our country is we are in the top 20 for HIV deaths and obesity rate. I still have not made my decision whether I think the United States is the greatest country in the world or not. Things that are happening everyday to help this and also break this down.

Newsroom
In class we watched a video called the newsroom first scene. This video was confusing to me because I did not understand what the man was talking about. I also did not understand if he was running for a government position. After we watched the video we discussed whether American was the greatest country in the world. My opinion on this question would be yes and no. My answer to this is no because we have government issues and people still living out on the streets. I would say yes to this question since we are lucky enough to have fresh water, even though we are limited, and we have food and people can live happily.
