The death of Socrates-  A 1787 oil on canvas painting by the french painter Jacques-Louis David.  Socrates was also put on trial for corrupting the youth and criticizing the gods.. The People of the jury made him drink Hemlock, this being the event of the painting.   Wikipedia

What did the greeks mean if they called you an idiot- They meant that if you had the right to vote but chose not to you were labeled or considered an idiot. Everyone who could vote had to and if you chose not to you were publicly announced and labeled an idiot because you didn't choose to vote.
